It appears that our little allergy girl might no longer be allergic to bananas and, dare I say, peanuts. Her latest skin scratch test yielded no reaction to those two foods, for which she previously was positive. If this is true, it’s pretty cool. Being able to use bananas would help with our baking endeavors. We might now be able to make a vegan version of Mad’s banana bread. The peanut result would make it easier for her in the long run. However, we’ve engrained into her head that peanuts are no good for her for as long as she can remember so I doubt she would ever try them.
There was a new allergy identifed, however: sunflower seeds. This was surprising because she’s been around them for so long, as a peanut butter replacement, and she’s even had them in a snack bar once. Yet she’s never seemed to react to them. We will probably test her again.
Her other allergies are as we know unchanged. She’s still allergic to other tree nuts, eggs, and dairy.
