The end of chionophobia

Sunday, February 21st, 2010

Our 5 year old no longer suffers from snow phobia (chionophobia). That has been replaced by snow philia, or chionophilia. We are destined for some future winter Olympic games, for sure.

I thought this looked funny. It’s a storage box in the garage.

Just some photos of the back entrances of restaurants. I’m thinking of making it a project.

Cotton Ball Sky

Wednesday, June 10th, 2009

The sky is in rare form over San Francisco this evening. It’s speckled with little puffy clouds, which is an uncommon, but welcomed site.

Baltimore Brownstones

Saturday, March 29th, 2008

Last night, I was walking in the Little Italy section of Baltimore, trying to get Nina fall asleep. She had begun to go “Chucky” on me in the restaurant where our friends were hosting their rehearsal diner. During our walk, I saw a few interesting looking houses.

Baker Beach Panorama

Friday, February 22nd, 2008

On Nina’s birthday, last month, we spent the morning with her on Baker Beach. Leila was in school, so Nina had a rare morning alone with us. She absolutely loved it. She’s a very different kid when she’s not in her sister’s shadow. She discovered the wave polished rocks and wanted to pick all of them up.

I took a panorama of the scene, and roughly spliced the pictures together. Take a look.

Glorious Sunday Afternoon in Dolores Park

Sunday, February 10th, 2008

We spent the afternoon in Dolores park. It was the first beautiful and warm sunny day we’ve had in a while, so the park was overflowing with San Franciscans. We were there with friends we’d not seen for the last five months. They are San Franciscan expats who now live on the right coast, so the whole crew was there to hang out with them.

You can see the scene of that glorious day in the panorama below. It is actually a 360º spin of shot I spliced together in Photoshop, albeit rather sloppily. Leila was on my lap asking if she could move the mouse or click on the buttons, so I didn’t spend much time trying to blend the edges.
